Previously on Galarian Days...

Zander and Wufu come to Turffield to enact Zander's plan to seek out the man in black and the woman in white by covering where Power Spots are, but the only other person they end up meeting is Gym Leader Annie after the town was evacuated due to the appearance of a Dynamiasma in Turffield Stadium. The two anthros act on that, giving each other a glimpse of their gifted powers that they use to take the monster down, then head back to explain to Annie...

-

"I see," Annie said as she was caught up. "So, let me see if I have this straight. The monster that attacked this morning is called a Dynamiasma, and it's made of stolen Galar particles, right?"

"Right," Zander confirmed.

"And it was created by a man in black and/or a woman in white, right?"

"According to eyewitness reports," Wufu confirmed.

"And said man and woman are planning to cause a crisis opposite of the Darkest Day?" Annie asked. "What, like the Lightest Night or something?"

"Surprisingly, I asked the same thing," Zander said, "but, yes and no. Yes, they are trying to cause a crisis opposite of the Darkest Day, but no, it's not called the Lightest Night. In fact, I don't think there's even an official name for it."

"Okay, just one more question," Annie said. "Why didn't you go after the man and woman sooner yourself?"

"I was otherwise engaged with prior matters," Zander admitted.

"Look, I don't want to be 'that bear,'" Wufu cut in, "but there's still an issue we have to deal with. There are still other Power Spots we haven't checked yet, and if this place is any indicator, then we should head to the other Gym Stadiums; Hulbury, Motostoke, Stow-on-Side, Ballonlea-"

"Circhester!" Zander suddenly spat out, remembering the hometown of his friend, Sophia.

"...and Hammerlocke," Wufu continued. "Chances are, any of the other Gym Leaders there could've seen something before the Dynamiasmas."

"Good thinking, Wufu!" Annie said. "I'll call them up and ask them."

"Great."

"But before I do," Annie said, "I should give you something to thank you for getting rid of the Dynamiasma, so I'd like you to take this rare League card of mine as a token of my gratitude." She then handed Zander the card with a blank green corner, and when he took it, it showed a picture of a younger Annie in more ordinary clothing, looking up at a large, but gentle hand reaching out to her. The flipside of the card read, "Annie was orphaned due to her parents having been taken from this world by a swarm of irate Combee. Her only company then was the very first Pokemon she caught before the incident: a Caterpie. The two of them looked after each other for months, until she was taken in by a kind farmer and became the person she is today..."

"This has just given me new respect for you, Annie," Zander said as he pocketed the card, "and you've just given us a major advantage, Wufu. Now we have the Gym Leaders of Galar on our side!"

"Right!" Annie confirmed. "Now, I've got to send out the return order for the town and get back to training for the finals tomorrow. Good luck, guys!"

"Bye, Annie!" Zander and Wufu said as they left the stadium. Zander then called for another Flying Taxi ride to their next stop: Hulbury. Once there, the two anthros made their way down to the second Gym Stadium, and Wufu asked, "So, who's the name of the Poison-type Gym Leader we're helping now, and also, did I get the theme right?"

"Her name is Selene," Zander answered, "and yes, you did."

"Okay, good."

"Let's just hope Annie made good on her promise to inform her and the others," Zander said before he and Wufu entered the lobby... which was also empty.

"I'm... guessing that's a no," Wufu said.

"Wait for it..." Zander said as he held up a finger.

Just as he supposed, the doors opened behind them, and Selene came in. "Oh, good, you're here! I just got the call from Annie, and she told me everything!"

"I stand corrected," Wufu said.

"Good to see you again, too, Selene," Zander said. "Did you already get Hulbury evacuated, too?"

"Sure did," Selene explained. "This morning, I was out finishing up another painting- before opening hours- when I heard some sort of gurgling groan coming from the stadium! When I ran back inside, all of my Gym Trainers told me some kind of monster had taken over the pitch, and they couldn't fight it off with their Pokemon, so the whole lot of us made like watercolors on a rainy day and ran!"

"Solid wordplay," Wufu said.

"Agreed," Zander said, "but enough prattle. You just wait here and let us handle the noise you heard." He then turned around and added, "Oh, one more thing: if Klara drops by, tell her she's wasting her breath."

-

Inside the chamber, Zander and Wufu started looking around for something to make into Zander's weapons, but Wufu said, "Uh, Zander? When you said Klara would be wasting her breath, what did you mean by that?"

"Would her Pokemon fare better than the Gym Trainers' against the Dynamiasma?" Zander challenged.

Wufu wanted to build a case for Klara, but finding nothing plausible, he simply conceded with, "Good point."

"Now, I don't want to have this discussion again," Zander said before he spotted a discarded paintbrush and artist's palette. "Aha! Found something!"

Just then, the gurgling groan rang out, and it made the suspended metal floor tremble. But, acting quickly, Zander bounded towards the tools on all fours and caught them before the vibrations made them fall off into the pit below. In flashes of light, they were quickly changed into his weapons. "Got 'em! Now let's get after whatever is down that hallway!"

"Right!" Wufu said.

-

As soon as the two anthros entered the Battle Court, their noses were suddenly assaulted and battered by a horrible odor! Clenching their noses tightly, they saw the source of the groans and the stink: a massive purple blob of oozing, slimy sludge that looked like it was constantly melting all over itself, distorting its grotesque face as it made geysers of the goop it was made of gush up from the ground!

"Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick..." Zander groaned as he was swallowing to try and keep from throwing up, but then remembered he could raise his force field to get some clean air back into his system... but it only trapped more stinky air inside with him, making the poor wolf lose control of his stomach. "Bloooaaarrrrrgh!!"

"Hold on, Zander! I'll save you!" Wufu said as he summoned the watery aura. He then threw a flurry of punches and kicks that splashed water onto the sludge, diluting it into a more tolerable odor, and washing it away.

Zander then got his bearings back after he threw up, then swung his shield to blow away the stink and clear the air. "Thanks, Wufu. I owe you one."

"You can start by taking down that blob!" Wufu said as he was done cleaning off the sludge and focused his attacks on the Dynamiasma.

"Right! Time to show you what I was about to do at Turffield!" Zander said before elongating his sword, then swinging it at the Dynamiasma to slash it repeatedly, making it groan in agony until it exploded in a cloud of purple dust!

With the blob gone, the air in the field became cleaner, allowing Zander and Wufu to take deeper breaths. "Hah... hoh... Whew! Guess that could've been worse!"

"I'll say," Wufu said. "Now let's get out of here quick so the smell won't be living in our noses forever..."

Hello, all. Gym Leader Nessa here.

As most of you may know, I was the Gym Leader of Hulbury last year, and I'm also a model for several fashion companies.

But that doesn't mean my Pokemon don't get their share of the spotlight, especially when it comes to my sponsor, Wailord Aquaculture.

It's where Water-type Pokemon that are injured, abandoned or otherwise are taken in, then they get cared for until they're nursed back to full health and released into the wild so they begin anew.

So, whenever you trainers go out to sea to expand your Water-type roster, chances are you'll be giving some Pokemon a second chance, thanks to Wailord Aquaculture!
